Guest Post: Sam Lee and Ben Bodley, Co-Founders of wearable camera start-up meMini. The meMini camera is always-on and lets you rewind time and save only the best moments.
meMini launched at Digital Experience in Las Vegas - a press only event that happens the night before the globally influential Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. CES is regarded as the global stage for innovation and is one of the most hotly anticipated and hyped annual technology events on the calendar.
To be part of Digital Experience was a huge win for us. Combined with our pre-launch press in New Zealand on Stuff and Idealog, we landed international coverage on Engadget, Techcrunch, cNet, The Guardian, Techglance, International Business Times and many more international publications. Sam also featured in an interview on the Vegas strip for TV3 News.
It was a whirlwind first week for our Kickstarter campaign and this coverage helped us to achieve 97% of our funding goal in just one week! You can check out our Kickstarter campaign here: http://bit.ly/1lLIaZw
“Sometimes you never know the value of something, until it becomes a memory” - Dr. Seuss.
Our vision is that digital memories will become a larger part of our lives and our children’s lives, creating new opportunities to reflect, enjoy, and bond with each other. We created meMINI to bring us closer to that vision, to give everybody the ability to hand-pick the best moments of their day, as they happened naturally, and to have them forever, to share, to re-live, and to remember. Quality over quantity.
Contrasting with traditional cameras that must be switched on or off to start and stop recording, meMINI is always recording, but only saves the video when the button is pressed, capturing up to 5 minutes of footage - that just happened. It is also instantly wearable via its Magnatach magnetic backing plate, allowing you to wear meMINI anywhere on your clothing, and to attach or remove quickly. meMINI also does not require any memory cards, or cables, synchronizing its video clips with your Smartphone, and a Cloud service that offers 2Gb of storage free for all users.
Over the last few days we’ve been based at Kiwi Landing Pad in San Francisco. Here we’ve reached out to press, potential partners, and potential investors. Everything here moves at 200mph, and we’re looking forward to returning after our campaign and tapping into that energy, in order to build meMINI into a world class company.
